Letizia Thevenet
Alchemist, Retired Ishgardian Knight.
Notable Notes

Letizia is an avid coffee consumer. One might expect an Ishgardian noblewoman to have some very particular preferences concerning her coffee, but hers are summed up in the important question: Is my cup full?
As she was left crippled by her service in the Dragonsong War, she has difficulty walking. She typically uses a cane, and frequently summons a carbuncle for assistance.
Letizia is also very nearsighted, and requires glasses.
As an alchemist, Letizia usually makes 'common goods'. Growth formulas, fertilizers, bases or chemicals for other processes, tinctures, inks, dyes, and the occasional particularly treated water... This isn't high profile work, but it is work that needs doing.
It is notable that though she does very common work, she does not need to. Her House, and even she herself, is wealthy.
Ishgard Restoration update: It's a good time to be an Ishgardian craftswoman. Much of her work has shifted from the other city states to her home that now has need of her skills.
Current age is late-30s.
History
If your Ishgardian has a particularly gossipy aunt (as do so many!), then perhaps you have heard some portion of Letizia's exploits.
Early in her life, Letizia spent time training to be a knight. She entered the military at a youngish age, and was promoted very quickly on the "merits" of her birth. This lead to a command position that involved leading men out to the far reaches of Ishgard's influence. She was known for being a well liked commander by the men serving, though some ranked above her were particularly critical of her inexperience.
In her late 20s, while out on a mission in the far frozen reaches of Coerthas, her unit encountered a dragon that was more than they could handle. Letizia was the sole survivor. Rumors about the event say she was found near death after crawling malms through the snow in a ravaged state. Following this she was unseen about Ishgard for a couple years, as she reclused from society, though she did not leave the city (nor it is said even her bedchamber) during this time.
In her early 30s, Letizia left Ishgard for La Noscea. The primary reason was to aid in her recovery in a better climate, but by this time she was also seeking something else meaningful to do with herself. She trained in magic and alchemy.
Today Letizia finds odd jobs as an alchemist around Eorzea. She likes to travel, though she is somewhat slow at doing so.
House Thevenet
Ocasionally, when spare sons of a great house have spare sons, who in turn produce more... Some otherwise unnotable noble will do something to distinguish himself, and decide he prefers to begin his own house, rather than simply adding to the glory of one he was lost in. That is how House Thevenet came to be; A son of Dzemael several generations past made himself just notable enough. Little is remembered today about Lord Marceau Thevenet beyond his founding of the house.
While a small house, that only owns the most nominal parcel of land, they are notably wealthy for involvement in commerce, particularly some of the rare commerce between Ishgard and its neighbors prior to the end of the Dragonsong war. The primary home of the family is a small estate within the city of Ishgard proper.
As she is officially a retired knight, it is fairly well known that Letizia is not involved in the business dealings of other members of her family. However she is known to occasionally turn to their resources when there is an opportunity that may interest them.
Notable members of the family (NPCs) that you may have heard of around Ishgard include: Lord Cyprien Thevenet, Letizia's father, who is not particularly notable in personal accomplishment, but rather known simply for being the current head of House Thevenet and a deeply reserved man. However Letizia's brother, Donatien, is known for his acumen concerning coin, and was very quick to chase opening more trade with the changes in Ishgard. Arsène is a cousin of Letizia who made a name for himself prior to the conclusion of the war as a ruthless inquisitor, though of late he seems to have disappeared... Finally, Letizia's uncle, Lord Gratien Thevenet, is known for importing exotic and eccentric goods to Ishgard.
Ishgard Restoration update: It's a good time to be involved in Ishgardian trade, and Donatien Thevenet is quickly leading the house to greater wealth and a more prominent position in society.
